Boston Metal Products, Ltd. was established in the summer of 1998 by it's three founding partners who combined, have over fifty years of experience in the manufacturing and sale of plumbing and related products.  BMP currently occupies approximately 16,000 square feet office, manufacturing and warehouse space in a modern industrial park located in northwest Rhode Island, in the rural town of Smithfield.  This ideal location, within minutes of 3 major interstate highways, allows for shipment of product to your door in a most timely fashion.  BMP's goal is to ship all orders within 24 to 48 hours of receiving them, so that our customers are able to minimize inventory requirements with the confidence that products are only a truck ride away.

BMP products, whether addressing the residential, commercial  plumbing and heating industry, irrigation, or a new OEM application all share a common goal; high quality, reliability, and cost reduction for the end user.  Most products encompass design features which yield substantial benefits over competitive products.  Our primary product lines are produced from forged brass bar stock which offers many advantages such as the following:

Appearance - A forged brass bar stock product has a finer grain, thus smoother more cosmetically appealing surface finish when compared to a sand cast product.  Machined features appear sharper, and lettering is clear and bold looking enhancing the product's appearance.

Corrosion Resistance - Brass forgings are highly resistant to corrosion and will not rust.  All other non brass metal components used are either zinc, nickel or chrome plated to resist corrosion.

Strength - The wall thickness of a forged brass product need not be as thick to achieve a given pressure rating.  This allows for a lighter-weight valve with higher strength characteristics without the concern for porosity that is inherent with sand castings.

Functionality - Glass filled PTFE seats and packing offer smooth quarter turn action and a tight highly reliable seal.  All our valves offer full port openings allowing a non constrictive pass through of fluids thus eliminating the possibility of pressure buildup during operation.

Safety - Blowout proof stems, adjustable packing nuts and lock washers, afford safety features not always available in a valve of this type.  A solid, chrome plated ball eliminates the potential for catastrophic failure caused by residual water freezing inside the ball as frequently occurs in the two piece ball design that many competitors ball valve line use.

Convenience - Dual stops on most ball valve products, which are located 180 degrees from each other allows the user the option to remove and reverse the handle in tight installation situations.

Price/Performance - Significant savings to end users with prices ranging from 5% to 30% below competing products, in addition to the savings realized from a lack of down time due to product failures and costs associated with replacing inferior products.

Compliance - Many of our products are available with compliance approvals from the American Gas Association, Canadian Gas Association and other testing associations.

In addition to our line of fine forged brass items we offer various other competitively priced products in cast brass, steel, and other materials to suit your needs.  Please talk to our sales professionals about your inventory needs or special application requirements.
